    Why Central Park Carousel is a great place to take your kids in New York City

    The original carousel opened in Central Park in 1871. The popular and beautiful current version was built in 1908 but not installed here until the 1950's. It is one of the largest merry-go-rounds in the country. The ride features 57 magnificent hand-carved horses and fantastic music from the center organ.
