    Why American Museum of Natural History is a great place to take your kids in New York City

    The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world's preeminent scientific and cultural institutions. Since its founding in 1869, the Museum has advanced its global mission to discover, interpret and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world and the universe.Featuring life-sized animal exhibits, giant dinosaurs, mummies and more, the American Museum of Natural History's collection will keep both children and adults engaged for hours.

    Be sure to find the Discovery Room on the 1st floor.  It offers families, and especially children ages 5-12, an interactive gateway to the wonders of the Museum and a hands-on, behind-the scenes look at its science.

    TINY's Take

    One of the best and most-fun museums in the world for kids. (Plus it a great indoor space for them to run around in without bothering the neighbor below!) The animal dioramas throughout the building are incredible as is the tremendous whale in the basement!

    We can't get enough of this place, and the cafe isn't so bad either so you can stay right through lunch!
